This screenshot shows the first scene of 'North By Northwest'. It shows lot's of liveliness and busyness.

This scene again shows lots of activity. Which raises questions as to why everyone is in a rush. It still has credits on show for the movie's production.

  1. This is a little brief, try to think about all the micro elements, by which I mean:
camera, sound, editing, mise en scene...

Watch the clip and think about what the sound is doing, what the ending is doing, what the camera is doing and why, use terms like; birds eye view, close up, cut rate, pan, tilt, juxtaposition, signifies, audience, shot...

There is high angle shot of people walking in subway, this shot makes the people look small on screen and gives the impression they are swirling into a hole. This dehumanises the crowd and conveys to the audience that they are one mass moving together. It's a really interesting shot
