Source Code - Opening Analysis

This is the opening scene. It uses a close up shot to introduce the character and show his facial expressions.

This screenshot shows the use of an 'over shoulder' shot. This is used to give the viewer a feeling of POV (point of view) and immerse them in the conversation.

In this scene the camera is using a two-shot to capture both characters in conversation, focusing on both of them. It is done to keep all attention to the characters in the shot and their facial expressions.

In this screenshot, the camera uses an establishing camera shot in order to show the audience the environment and setting. It shows a lot of colour and light, perhaps suggesting a particular mood/vibe to the viewer.

This final screenshot is another close up of the main character. It is done to show his emotions and make us comfortable with the character. In this scene, he is confused and scared of his situation, hence why this particular camera shot is used; to show his facial expressions also.
